Don’t let the holidays overwhelm your travel plans. SuperShuttle is willing to help, not only with our services, but also with this travel planning guide. We know you can achieve an organized and smooth travel schedule this holiday season!

Expect Places to be Crowded

Whether you are flying or driving to your destination for Thanksgiving, expect the crowds. There will be a large amount of people traveling the week of Thanksgiving and especially the day before. Be prepared to wait in longer lines and definitely expect the airplane to be full. With that in mind, this is where the planning comes in handy.

Plan, Plan, Plan

Traveling requires a lot of planning as is, but add extra people in the mix and it will require even more planning. First, if you are planning to fly, book your flight and ground transportation in advance. Try to book at least three months in advance, that way you won’t have to rush to find a flight three weeks before Thanksgiving.

Next, plan your transportation to and from the airport. Driving to the airport during the holidays is usually a nightmare, but if you book with SuperShuttle, it will be hassle free for you. If you forget to book SuperShuttle when you booked your flight, don’t worry. You will be able to book your ride 24 hours before your flight. Our prices will stay the same for the holiday season as well. You will not need to pay extra due to the overflow of people traveling. SuperShuttle will accommodate your personal needs. Also if you book round trip transportation, your SuperShuttle van will be waiting for you once you arrive back from your trip. To see more about our round trip click SuperShuttle Blog

Packing

When you need to pack for a trip, make a list and check off an item once you pack it. This will limit forgotten things, that way you won’t have to buy missing items and save money for your trip! Start packing the week of your flight. Don’t wait until the night before, doing this will most likely result in forgetting something. Make sure to charge all of your devices the night before, so you have full battery for the next busy day of traveling. Click Travel Smith to download a free packing list.

Research

This is an important step to your travel plans. Research the weather of the town you will be arriving to. If it is going to be extremely cold, make sure to pack a coat and gloves in your carry on. That way when you get off of the plane all you have to do is grab your bags and board your SuperShuttle van that will meet you at the curb. Other things to research would be, flight times, airport restaurants, security checkpoint bag sizes/liquid container sizes and plane amenities. Knowing about these things in advance will greatly help you during your trip.

Prepare

Be prepared at the airport before security checkpoints. If you have all of your bags and electronic devices out, in a tray, your shoes off and your boarding pass handy, this will make for a smooth checkpoint. Remember the TSA workers are dealing with the Thanksgiving rush too, so making it easier on them will be greatly appreciated as well!

Happy Traveling

Be a happy traveler and don’t stress. If you follow the steps above, you will be in good shape when it comes travel day. Remember that everyone else is trying to get somewhere for the holiday as well, so be patient and expect grumpy travelers 😉 We all have something to be thankful for and at SuperShuttle we are thankful for travelers like you! Happy Thanksgiving!
